Book Illustration Art Competition is open for entries till Jan 17

Illustration: The House of Illustration and the Folio Society are looking for new talent in the book illustrations. The annual international competition is open to artists above the age of 18 across worldwide. Participants need to submit three illustrations and a binding cover design for a book which will be chosen by The Folio Society. The first prize winner will receive 6,760 USD, which covers a nine book illustration and binding design of the book, which will be published by the Folio Society. The book illustration competition was started in the year 2011 and entries from more than 44 countries were received.

The book to be illustrated this year is The Selected Adventures and Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes by Arthur Conan Doyle. You will need to read and provide one illustration for each of the following stories for your entry.

• A Scandal in Bohemia
• The Man with the Twisted Lip
• The Musgrave Ritual

The new edition, featuring illustrations by the winner, will be published by The Folio Society as part of its Christmas 2018 campaign. It is a paid entry and for a single entry its approx $33 and $20 for students. Only one entry is allowed.
